The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the NDA-II and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) , 2012 on 19/08/2012 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wing of the NDA for 130th Course and Naval Academy for 92nd [10+2 Executive Branch] course commencing from July 2013. Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible

Eligibility:
CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION:
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all
eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all
the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying
the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that
his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission.
Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken
up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
2. HOW TO APPLY
Candidates are required to apply online by using the website
www.upsconline.nic.in Brief instruction for filling up the online Application
Form have been given in the Appendix-II. Detailed instructions are available
on the above mentioned website.
3. LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS :
The Online Applications can be filled upto 4th June 2012 till 11.59 PM after
which the link will be disabled.
4. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three
weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission
Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in]
for being downloaded by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be
sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid & active email
i.d. while filling up Online application form as the Commission may
use electronic mode for contacting them.

Educational Qualification
for Army : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University with Physics and Mathematics subjects
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.

Fee: Rs.50/- to be deposited in any branch of SBI or Online by Net Banking Or by Credit/ Debit card.

The Centres and the date of holding the
examination as mentioned above are
liable to be changed at the discretion of
the Commission. While every effort will
be made to allot the candidates to the
centre of their choice for examination,
the Commission may, at their discretion,
allot a different centre to a candidate
when circumstances so warrant. Blind
candidates will, however, be required to
take the examination at any one of the
seven centres viz. Chennai, Delhi,
Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dispur
and Mumbai. Candidates admitted to the
examination will be informed of the time
table and place or places of
examination.
The candidates should note that no
request for change of centre would be
granted.

6. FACILITATION COUNTER FOR GUIDANCE OF CANDIDATES :
In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications,

23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.
7. Mobile Phones Banned:
(a) Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication devices are not allowed
inside the premises where the examination is being conducted. Any infringement of
these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future
examinations.
(b) Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned item
including mobile phones/pagers or any valuable/costly items to the venue of the
examination, as arrangement for safe-keeping can not be assured. Commission
will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.

HOW TO APPLY :
(a) Candidates are required to apply Online using the link www.upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website.The applicants are advised to submit only single application, however, if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/ she must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.

(b) All candidates, whether already in
Government Service, Government owned
industrial undertakings or other similar
organisations or in private employment
should submit their applications direct to
the Commission. Persons already in
Government service, whether in a
permanent or temporary capacity or as
workcharged employees other than
casual or daily rated employees or those
serving under Public Enterprises are
however, required to inform their Head of
Office/Department that they have applied
for the Examination.
Candidates should note that in case a
communication is received from their
employer by the Commission withholding
permission to the candidates applying for/
appearing at the examination, their
application will be liable to be rejected/
candidature will be liable to be cancelled.
NOTE I: While filling in his/her Application
Form, the candidate should carefully
decide about his/her choice for the centre
and optional subjects for the examination.
If any candidate appears at a centre/
optional subjects other than those
indicated by the Commission in his/her
e-Admission Certificate, the papers of
such a candidate will not be evaluated
and his/her candidature will be liable to
cancellation.

IAS Exam 2012: The Basics

The IAS Exam will consist of three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview (Personality Test). While the Preliminary exam will be objective in nature, the mains will be written while the personality test is verbal.

You have to clear the preceding stage to reach the next stage of IAS 2012 Exam. For instance you will need to first crack the IAS prelims, then appear for the mains, and based on the marks obtained you may be called for the IAS interview, the final frontier.

Applying for the 2012 IAS Exam

To appear for the IAS exam you will first need to apply for it. All the three stages of the IAS exam are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), a Constitutional body answerable to the Union Parliament.

The notification for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (or just IAS prelims) will appear in the Employment News and on UPSC’s website on 04-02-2012 and you can apply either online or through application forms available at the Head Post Offices throughout cities in India.

Remember: You cannot directly appear for the Mains or Interview. Rather you have to first apply for the Preliminary examination conducted by UPSC before proceeding to the next stage.

The last date of receipt of your application is 05-03-2012. At this stage you don’t have to send any documents about your age or educational qualifications. They will be required at the time of filling the IAS Mains form.

The Preliminary exam or the first stage of the IAS Exam 2012 will be held on 20-05-2012.

The Medical qualificationspossessed by the candidates should have the recognition of the Medical Council of India. In case of medical posts other than Allopathic system of medicine, the qualifications should be included in therespective Schedule of the Act governing that system of medicine. NOTE II:
In so far as Post-Graduation Medical qualifications awarded by Indian Universities areconcerned, they should also find a place in the Schedules to Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, as amendedfrom time to time. Union Public Service Commission was formed on October 1, 1926 as a Government Organisation. The commission is located at Dholpur House, Shah Jahan Road, New delhi. The commission is responsible for conducting competitive examinations for making appointment to the various Civil Services of India. The first public service commission was set up by the then British Indian Government. The demand for the public service commission was raised by Indian Politicians. Initialy, the commission was aimed to function as a advisory body but later it was set up as a federal Public Service Commission.

Job Profile:

Union Public Service Commission is looking forward to conduct a Written Examination followed by a Interview Test/ Group Discussion for Special Class Railway Apprentices’ Examination (SCRA), 2012. The recruitment will be made to the Special Class Apprentices in the Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. Candidates must ensure their eligibility for the post before applying for it.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post is 17 years as on 1 January 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post is 21 years as on 1 January 2011.

Interested candidates are required to be within the prescribed age limit or else their applications will not be considered by the commission. The upper age limit is relaxable for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories. Other certain categories candidates will also be provided relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules of Government of India.

Physical Standard:

Candidates are required to be medically or physically fit as per the rules or regulations given in the job advertisement.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have passed the Intermediate or an equivalent examination from a recognized university or board approved by the Government of India. Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with Mathematics and atleast one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination. Also, the candidates should have passed the Intermediate or equivalent examination with atleast 60% marks in aggregate. The fulfillment of this educational qualification criteria is must for each and every interested candidates. Candidates belonging to reserved categories may require to have pass the prescribed minimum educational qualification with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary.
