The ITBP Exam for the post of Head Constable is organized by the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force in New Delhi. It is conducted for the recruitment of eligible candidates to the post of Head Constable (CM). The recruitment test for this post comprises of different stages of tests. They are Physical Test, Written Test, Skill Test, Interview and Detailed Medical Examination. The Head Constable post offered by this organization has All India level liability and the recruited candidates may be posted anywhere in the country and even in overseas. After the ITBP appointment, the selected candidates shall be governed by the Act and Rules of ITBPF.

Structure and Pattern of ITBP Exam for the post of Head Constable

As said earlier the ITBP recruitment process includes various steps. After the assessment of application forms, the candidates will be called for the initial Physical Test. Those who have cleared the Physical Test will get enrollment for the ITBP Written Test. This written examination is for total of 100 marks. The question paper includes four sections of which three sections are of objective type and last section is a descriptive type. The four sections are

* General Arithmetic
* General Knowledge
* General English
* Essay Writing

The questions for the first two sections will be printed in Bilingual, i.e. in English and Hindi. The essay can be written either in English or Hindi. The maximum time allotted to answer all these questions is three hours. The minimum marks required to pass each section of this examination is 45%. As per the norms of Government of India, a relaxation of 5% in marks will be granted for the SC/ ST candidates. Those who are qualified in this written test will be required to attend the Skill Test. This test includes two sections. The first one is the typing test on computer and the second is testing the Computer Skill/ Knowledge.

Qualification Criteria for ITBP Exam for the post of Head Constable

Applicants who are interested to appear for this recruitment test of ITBP should fulfill certain qualification and eligibility criteria as prescribed.

Educational and other qualifications: The candidates should have qualified the senior secondary examination of a recognized board. They must possess the typing proficiency in computer, i.e. they should type minimum of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.

Age: The age of the applicants should be between 18 and 25 years. Some relaxations will be granted in case of upper age limit for the candidates belonging to certain category as prescribed in the Government of India rules.

Physical Standards: The minimum height of candidates should be at least 165cms for male and 155cms for females. The chest expansion should be minimum 5 cms for the male candidates, 77cms in unexpanded and 82cms in expanded conditions. The weight should be in proportion to the height as per the medical standards.

Medical Standards: The candidates should have minimum distant vision of 6/6 and without glass it should be 6/9 for both eyes. They should not possess a knock-knee, varicose vein, flat foots or squint in eyes. They must be physically and mentally fit and should be free from any other physical imperfections that may affect their performance.

Application Procedure of ITBP Exam for the post of Head Constable

The application form for the examination can be obtained from the official website of the ITBP. All eligible candidates should fill the details as per the format in a plain paper and send it to the official address as specified below. The application form should be enclosed with the required documents as prescribed in the notification. They should also send the application fee as notified in the form of bank draft or Indian Postal order or as Central Recruitment Fee Stamp.

Age limit: The candidates age limit is between 18 to 25 years (Cut off date for determining the age will be 14th July, 2011), reservation as per Govt rules.

Educational qualification: Candidates pass with Senior Secondary Certificate from a recognized Board or equivalent; preference will be given to possessing higher qualifications.

How to apply: – Fill up the application form and enclose all the Qualification Certificate, Date of Birth, Application Fee, Caste Certificate and Two Passport recent size photographs (one is affixed on Application Form and second is affixed on Admit card). All the documents are attested by Gazetted Officer and send it on or before 14th July 2011 on the address.

Selection procedure: The mode of selection is recruitment test/checking of documents/physical standards test/written test/skill test/interview and medical examination basis.

How to apply: The eligible candidates may send their application in prescribed format given the advertisement duly filled in Hindi or English only with two recent passport size photographs one pasted on the application form and another one on admit card duly attested by Gazetted officer, along with attested photo copies of all necessary certificates, two self addressed envelops and Indian Postal Order/Central Recruitment Fee Stamp/Demand draft of Rs 50/-, to the following address, The Inspector General (Special) Frontier, ITB Police, West Block, Wing-2, Sector-1, R K Puram, New Delhi-110066, on or before 14-07-2011, (For far flung areas 21-07-2011).
